Los coquíes en Puerto Rico

This documentary was filmed in the Carite Forest and El Yunque rainforest, following biologist, Rafael Joglar, researcher of frogs all his life, and two younger biologists. In Mona Island, a natural reserve, where only one species exists and sings differently we see two other biologists. They all search for frogs that we listen to; they take them in their hands, measure them and put them back in the forest. The arqueologist, Reniel Rodríguez, explains the connection between representations of amphibians and the indigenous cosmogony which dates 6000 years back. Climate change is another topic and how it is affecting the frogs, from 17 species there existed, three are extinct and five more could disappear.DocumentaryPT1HNR2026-09-17
